With Nalo, children learn their vocabulary for the next test. Scan the vocabulary page from their own school book, enter the test date, and Nalo practises with them until then. Parents see in the parent dashboard how far their child has got.

What makes Nalo different

  1. Any school book

Nalo works with any school book, whatever the publisher. The vocabulary page is scanned, several pages at once too, or from photos. Nalo recognises the word, the translation, the example sentence and verb forms, and marks anything uncertain for a quick check.

  2. Made for the vocabulary test

Enter the pages and the test date, and Nalo spreads the words over the days until then. Shortly before the test Nalo asks the way the real test does: asked in the child’s own language, typed in the foreign language.

  3. Fun practice, built on learning psychology

Short rounds, spaced repetition, difficulty that rises step by step, and praise instead of pressure. Words that still trip the child up come back more often. A daily goal, stars, levels and stickers make the next round something to look forward to.

  4. Parents see the progress

For every test, parents see how many words have stuck, which ones still trip the child up and on which days they practised. They can set up tests themselves and send them to the child’s device. For several children and both parents, with no leaderboards and no comparing siblings.

  5. Free, and it collects no data

No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads, no tracking. No account of its own and no contact details: the data stays on the family’s devices and in their iCloud. The App Store privacy label says “Data Not Collected”.
