Hi, I'm Nalo!

Nalo the fox waves
Nalo's start screen with the French test on Friday

Sound familiar?

Nobody at home speaks the language

French, Latin, Spanish: you can quiz, but you can't show how a word is pronounced.

Quizzing at the kitchen table

The same list every evening, and in the end you argue more than you practise.

The test always comes suddenly

The night before, it turns out three pages are still missing.

Nalo takes over the practising. You keep the overview.

1 · Scan

Any school book. One photo.

Point the camera at the vocabulary page, done. Nalo recognises word, translation and example sentence and marks what needs a quick check. You scan with your iPhone, the test lands on your child's device. No typing, no particular publisher.

2 · Listen

Nalo says every word aloud.

A speaker on every card: your child hears the right pronunciation as often as it likes. Nalo can do that even if you never learnt the language.

New word. Turn the card over.

la boulangerie

/la bu.lɑ̃ʒ.ʁi/

3 · Plan

Planned through to the test.

Enter the test date and the pages, Nalo spreads the words over the days until then. Shortly before, Nalo quizzes the way the real test does.

Reminds in good time

A short message when it's time to practise: to your child and, if you like, to you.

When is your French test? Tomorrow, the day after, in a weekWednesday, 21 October16:00

4 · Practise

Small rounds that feel good.

Flash card, multiple choice, typing: Nalo raises the difficulty step by step. Words that still stick come back until they sit.

Praise, not pressure

Nalo never scolds. Every round earns stars, a kind word and sometimes a little dance.

Keep at it and you unlock stickers and can restyle Nalo: new headphones, hats, glasses.

On the home screen

One glance is enough.

Your child sees how many days are left until the test and where the week stands. You see for each child whether they're on track.

5 · Accompany

Your child practises. You see whether it's enough.

If you like: your child learns on its own iPhone or iPad, you see on yours how far it has got. No nagging, no looking over the shoulder.

6 · On your own

Works without parents. And without a book.

Nalo needs no family to get going. Whoever learns alone simply scans, practises and plans alone.

Which topic? Hello & goodbye, Numbers & colours, Family & friends

Children on their own

Older pupils scan their pages themselves, set up tests and practise with no parents involved.

Without a school book

Type words in or learn a topic from Nalo's dictionary: Hello & goodbye, Food & drink, Out and about.

Adults too

A new language for life or for the holidays? Nalo practises with you just as patiently.

Made for children. Honest with parents.
